At Thompson Worm Farm our goal is to increase awareness of a simple way individuals can make a difference for our environment.  You can reduce the amount of Organic Waste sent to our overcrowded landfills and make an excellent natural soil enhancer in the process.  The answer is Vermicomposting.  Vermicomposting is the process of recycling organic waste, like fruit and vegetable scraps, using composting worms.  Worms digest the waste and make a product called Vermicompost, or worm castings.  Vermicompost is alive with beneficial microbes and readily available nutrients for your plants. Don't haul your organic garbage away to the landfill - compost it on the spot and turn it into a useful product. It's easy to start - you can do it!
